When doing the leaves I felt that it was counterproductive for me to use the chalk pens. I started to fiddle with the leaves: sketching should be quick!

Instead I dabbled on some watercolor.
On the rose I felt that having a monochrome shadow layer underneath didn’t work with the materials.
On the leaves to the right I liked how the white chalk pen mixed with the watercolor. It allowed doing highlights on the colored background paper.
